Haha, thanks. Yeah, yesterday afternoon got surreal pretty quick after Raph shared that old post. It started in the Hotwheels post, CalzoneGolem linked to mine in the comments, then Raph put it up. Surprisingly, though, it's been mostly troll-free.
So... what influences do you think you see? Curious.

I may be way off but to me it looks like the angler of that roof window and the shape of wht windshield to have storm trooper helmet cues. The color of the car the red numbers and the louvers on the front make me think of a silver arrow mercedes but mostly an Auto Union D type.

Not at all way off. In fact, pretty way on. It was just a fuckin-around sketch while I was working on the storm trooper cars. Ultimately I went with a more front-engined look, but this one is straight over a W196 GP car, but with a tall, narrow roof in line with the Auto Unions of the same period, with a greenhouse like the troopers' helmets, and the spine fin.
